| Theogefyro |
Theogefyro is one of the most important sightseeings of the region, for
which many well-known and anonymous historians wrote. Between them
Panagiotis Aravantinos, Lord Byron, Ioannis Lampridis,
Poykevil and many more.
Bridge made from God. That's how residents of the region called it. An infrequent geological phenomenon, result or better
work of impetuous waters of Kalamas. It is 45 meters long,
3-4 meters wide and is 20 meters above the
river.
Thousands years before Thyamis ( the old name of Kalamas) rolled in higher altitude than that nowdays. In its way however, between in the hills of Mpakis and Anilioy it met
resistance. The ground hard. The rock tried to resist, but in vane. Its wild
impetuous waters achieved to find an exit in the precarious obstacle
that the rock created and then opened a passage under it,
creating a natural bridge. The bridge that
manufactured the nature, the bridge that manufactured God, for the
residents of the region. Tha's the reason why they called THEOGEFYRO.
